Freedom's Battleground: A Traveling Exhibit of MonmouthNJ 250 Celebration In-Person
On display at the Eastern Branch Library
The MonmouthNJ 250 Traveling Exhibit is a series of large, engaging panels that explore Monmouth County’s rich history during the American Revolution and its aftermath as part of America’s 250th anniversary celebration. Each panel features a compelling headline and story — including “Battle of Monmouth,” which highlights this pivotal 1778 engagement and its impact on the Continental Army, and other panels that delve into the lived experiences of local civilians, divided loyalties, and the county’s transition from wartime struggle to peace and growth. Together, the panels illustrate how Monmouth County was truly a battleground of freedom, shaped by conflict, community, and change. This exhibit brings to life key moments and personal stories that connect visitors with the people and events that defined both the county and the nation.
