MCL Book Club Tuesday Touring Company at Marlboro Branch: Frozen River by Ariel Lawhon In-Person
Meet on Tuesday, October 6th at 10:30 am at the Marlboro Library to discuss The Frozen River by Ariel Lawhon.
A gripping historical mystery based on the real-life diary entries of Martha Ballard, an 18th-century midwife who found herself at the center of a murder trial. Ariel Lawhon's newest offering introduces an unsung heroine who refused to accept anything less than justice at a time when women were considered best seen and not heard. The Frozen River is a thrilling, tense, and tender story about a remarkable woman who left an unparalleled legacy yet remains nearly forgotten to this day.
